Richard’s Obituary Richard W. Coghlan, 81, of Brenham, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 12, 2019, in Brenham Nursing and Rehab. A memorial service is planned for 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019, at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Rev. Bobbie Maltas officiating.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Friday, before the service. Richard Coghlan was born September 2, 1937, in Madison, WI, to Robert C. Sr. and Evelyn (Falk) Coghlan. He was a retired carpenter and later worked at Walmart from 1999-2013.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Roger Appelt; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Melissa Cook, all of Brenham; grandchildren, Kelsey Northway and husband Patrick of Brenham, Conner Appelt of Brenham and Lynnly Lee and husband J.D. of Fort Stockton; sister, Pat King of Aransas Pass; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy K. Coghlan; parents, Robert C. Sr. and Evelyn Coghlan; brother, Robert C. Coghlan, Jr.; one infant brother; grandson, Trevor Cook; and numerous relatives. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He enjoyed watching football, westerns and action-packed movies. He also enjoyed time with his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Brenham.

Funeral arrangements for Richard Coghlan are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham, TX, 979-836-4564.
