Rita’s Obituary Rita K. Thieman passed away October 10, 2018 at her home in Cozad at the age of 66. Rita was born June 7, 1952 in North Platte, Nebraska to Hermel L. and Phyllis E. (Daly) Priest. She graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1970.

On May 20, 1972, Rita married David Thieman. Their union was blessed with four daughters, Shannan, Kellie, Carrie and Jenni. Rita worked at Hunt Cleaners for many years and cleaned at the church.

She enjoyed playing computer games and loved butterflies, eagles and cardinals. Rita and her sisters had beautiful singing voices and were frequently asked to sing together at funerals, weddings and for the elderly. Her most treasured times were spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

Rita was preceded in death by her father; brother, Rusty Priest; brother-in-law, Mick Huber and son-in-law, Brandon Cooper. Survivors include her husband David Thieman of Cozad; daughters, Shannan (Bryon) Myers of Cozad, Kellie Thieman of Kearney, Carrie Meyer of Cozad and Jenni Cooper of Cozad; 8 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; mother, Phyllis Priest of North Platte; sisters, Sherrey (Larry) Dawson of Flemming, CO, Wanda (Pat) Simonson of Seneca and Janice Huber of North Platte; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. A memorial has been established in her name.

Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Don O’Brien as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Cozad Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited on Monday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Father Mike Pampara. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
