Dean was born May 4, 1923 to Dennis Brown and Alice Bain Brown Goodwin. Dean was better known as Mimi to her large family.

In her last days she reflected on how blessed she was to love and watch her family grow, enjoying her 3 generations of grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Brown and Alice Brown Goodwin; husbands, William Oliver “Son” Johnson and Erskin Freeman; daughter, Diane (Ed) Neal; son, Steve Johnson; Son in law, Johnny Jordan; 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Alice Dean Johnson Freeman “Mimi” is survived by her children, Butch (Teresa) Johnson, Sissy Jordan, daughter in law, Jodie Johnson; grandchildren, Cindy (Morris) Posey, Deana Crowson, Suzanne (David) Miceli, Stacy (Sakari) Jarvela, Lori (Phil) Tuggle, Vann (Geri) Neal, Brady (Diana) Jordan, Brandon (Wendy) Johnson, Brent Johnson, Jolee (Bubba) Owens, Chris Neal, Jason (Jennifer) Neal, Rachel (Jarrett) Hopkins and Ryan Johnson; great grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Crowson, Chase (Brittany) Crowson and Jake (Jasmine) Posey, Hannah and Josh Miceli, Sam, Jamie and Betsy Tuggle, Spencer and Tristan Shipman, Breann (Spencer) Long, Garrett and Lorabeth Jordan, Sydney and Gracie Johnson, Taylor and Peyton Owens, Michael and Lily Neal and Oakley Evans; great great grandchildren, Ben Crowson, Jenna and Jace Johnson, Harbor, Shepherd and Giles Posey, and Lilly Long.

Funeral service will be Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home with burial following at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to her church.
