Rita’s Obituary Rita Cotton Landry, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 surrounded by family. She was a native of Little Caillou and a resident of Marrero, LA. Rita was very spiritual and loved her Lord.

She was a devout catholic who attended mass regularly. She now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, February 1, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Rita is survived by her son, Daniel Landry and wife Crystal. Rita is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Landry; son, Donald Landry; parents, Joseph and Harriette Lirette Cotton; brothers, Norris Cotton, Sr., Horace Cotton, and Louis Cotton; sisters, Gloria Chaisson and Georgiana Cotton.

Rita was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was talented and extraordinary in many ways. She loved to garden, quilt, crochet, and sew.

Rita worked as a Nurse Assistant for over 20 years in the maternity ward at Sara Mayo Hospital in New Orleans. She enjoyed working with her friends and loved tending to the babies. Her positive attitude and unique personality endeared her to everyone.

Rita now resides in her heavenly home, reunited with her family. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Tranquil Living for their love and care for Rita. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Landry family.
