Wolfeboro, NH Robert A. Tierney, Jr., 64, of Wolfeboro, died unexpectedly on October 15, 2018, at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Born in Boston, MA on February 12, 1954, he was the son of late Robert A. Tierney Sr. and Barbara Hughes Tierney. Bob was the beloved husband of Lise Tierney, and father of daughters Megan and Emma Tierney.

Upon graduating from Waltham High School, Bob served in the Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he worked briefly for the Peterborough Police Department, and then worked for the Wolfeboro Police Department for 24 years. During his career at the Wolfeboro Police Department, Bob rose to the rank of Lieutenant, while earning his associates degree from Saint Anselm’s College, as well as his bachelor’s degree from Granite State College.

During his lifetime, Bob was an active member of his community, participating in The Special Olympics Torch Run for many years. Bob was a devout Catholic, and never missed his weekly mass at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, in Alton, NH. In his retirement, Bob worked at Sal’s Advanced Auto, in Wolfeboro, where his co-workers became his second family.

Bob’s daughters were his greatest of pride, happiness and fulfillment. He enjoyed cheering on his daughter Emma during her basketball games, talking politics, watching the Red Sox, indulging in conversations with “his ladies” about their challenges and successes at work, and never turned down a good cup of coffee. Bob will be remembered by his wife of 25 years, Lise Tierney, daughter Megan Tierney, of Danvers, MA, and daughter Emma Tierney, of Beverly, MA.

He is also survived by sister, Judy Blanchard and her husband, Donald, of Waltham, MA, sister Ellen Alger, of Waltham, MA, sister Barbara Goyette and her husband, Colin, of Hudson, NH, and brother Matthew Tierney and wife Dawn, of Upper Chichester, PA, as well as a niece and many nephews. Calling hours are Thursday, October 18 from 5-7 PM, at Lord Funeral Home on Route 28 in Wolfeboro. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 19 at 4:30, at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish in Alton, NH.
