Obituary for Robert Allan Ihlstrom Robert Allan Ihlstrom of West Hartford,CT passed peacefully at age 82 on June 5, 2018 in the caring hands of Hughes Health and Rehabilitation, West Hartford,CT. Born in Hartford August 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Sven M. Ihlstrom and Valborg Elin (Kraft) Ihlstrom of Crestwood Rd. , West Hartford.

He attended West Hartford schools and graduated from the then Porter Institute of Engineering & Design, and worked locally at engineering firms. He is survived by his sister, Wendy E. Nielsen and her husband Robert E. Nielsen of Niantic, CT, their children John C. Nielsen (Amy) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Stacey E. Lewis (Craig) of Alexandria, VA and their families. Our sincere thanks to Richard McKee of Hughes and his staff for their compassion and help for the last 15 years.

A graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Avenue, West Hartford will be held on Monday June 11, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Memorial donations may be sent to: The Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd. , Southington, CT 06489.
