Robert “Bobby” Lee Wright passed suddenly on January 22, 2019, in the grip of addiction. Born on September 11, 1958, to his mother Bettie Jackson Wright and his father Willis B. Wright, he was surrounded by love and admiration of his brothers Tim and Chris. He was a member of Hominy Baptist Church.

He grew up attending Candler Elementary and Enka High Schools. Bob was an accomplished Boy Scout and an amazing athlete. He was a skilled plumber by trade.

Bobby was a handsome man, with a broad smile and mischievous eyes. He loved spending time on the lake with his wife, Debby, and his son, Josh, and especially hanging out with his friends and those he loved. The past years while good, have taken a toll on his health and he was able to make things right with God.

But the hole in his heart and the grip of addiction was too tight. The family reminds you this epidemic is wide spread; pray for your loved ones and never give up the fight. The family offers a special thank you to his pastor, Dr. Joe Yelton, and cousin, Jim Reed, who is always there for the family, and to his very special neighbor and friend, Larry McCall.

Bobby is survived by his mother, Bettie Jackson Wright; brothers, Tim Wright and his wife, Marilyn, and their children, Marissa, Seth, Hannah, and Samantha, and Chris Wright and his children, Michael and Dakota; son, Josh Mason; and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, at Hominy Baptist Church, with Pastor Joe Yelton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

A private family graveside service will be held at Hominy Baptist Church Cemetery. Please make memorials to Hominy Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 135 Candler School Rd. , Candler, NC 28715.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
