Robert C Pasciuto October 03, 1939 – January 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Robert C. “Red” Pasciuto, 79, of Jackson passed away Sunday, January 13, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born October 3, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Asbury Park, Belmar, Lakewood, and Jackson throughout the years. While growing up in Belmar, Robert, at the age of 16, was the youngest manager of a Belmar Little League team.

After playing 3 sports in high school, one being the 1958 Football Champions who are in the Manasquan H.S. Hall of Fame, he was a leading player on the Belmar Dell Royals basketball team. He had a try out for outstanding prospects with the Phillies Professional Baseball League in 1958. Robert managed and played for the Belmar Merchants of the Jersey Shore Basketball League.

He was head coach of the Belmar Pop Warner football program. He was a girls’ basketball coach in the Jackson Recreation League and later returned to coaching boys’ recreation basketball in Belmar. His long dedication to youth sports date back to the 1950’s and total over 50 years of coaching.

Robert was the 1st person to be inducted into the Belmar Recreation Hall of Fame. He continued his love of sports by participating in basketball, softball, and competitive running until recent years. He worked successfully in several diverse occupations throughout his life: Owner of Michele’s Janitorial Service; owner, trainer,and driver of harness race horses at The Meadowlands, Freehold Raceway, Pocono Downs, Dover Downs, and Atlantic City Race Tracks; owner of a food concession at Lakewood Golf Course; School Bus Driver; and Personal Trainer and Group Instructor at several local gyms.

Bob continued to work out and train clients until May of 2018. He was predeceased by his father, Carmine Pasciuto; his mother Josephine Flynn and her husband John; and two brothers Anthony and Joseph Pasciuto. Surviving are his wife and best friend Anne (Burritt) Pasciuto; 2 daughters Michele Pasciuto of Manchester, NJ and Denise Chase of Carroliton ,Georgia; their mother Helga Lentine; 2 brothers Richard Pasciuto and his wife Rose of Wall and Arthur Guglielmo and his wife Nancy of Barnegat; sister-in-law Patricia Pasciuto of Lakewood; grandchildren Harris Wagner and his wife Merissa, Hannah Wagner, and Dustin Wagner; 3 great granddaughters Kylie, Alexis, and Gabriella.

Bob will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Alice Burritt and the entire Burritt family; his cousins, nieces, and many loving friends. He will be greatly missed by his 4 cats and devoted dog, Zoey. Although cut short by cancer, he had a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to Popcorn Park Zoo, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 17, from 4 to 8 PM at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D Street , Belmar. A Mass of Christian Burial at will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30AM at St. Rose RC Church, 603 7th Ave, Belmar.

Entombment to follow at St. Mary’s of the Lake Mausoleums, Lakewood.
