Robert’s Obituary Robert Dale Harris, age 88, passed away at his Rowlett, TX home on March 20, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lina Jo Harris; his children and their spouses Laura and; Mike Sanford of Leonard, TX, Gary and Sarah Harris of Benbrook, TX, Lisa Pool of Edgewood, TX and Lawana Harris and Lynn Hayes of Rowlett, TX. Robert had six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Robert is also survived by 4 of his siblings, David Harris, Doris Bray, Lucille Banzhaf and Stanley Harris and one sister-in-law Nita Vickers. Robert was proceeded in death by his parents Claude Earl and Lottie Harris of Oklahoma, his son-in-law Kevin D. Pool, and many siblings. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and had also previously retired from RCA.

Robert was a proud member of the 179th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Infantry Division (Thunderbirds), where he received the Purple Heart for his brave service in Korea. Robert was an active participant in his childrens’ lives and coached many baseball and softball teams. He was a deacon at Orchard Hills Baptist Church.

Robert was an avid gardener and often shared large quantities of produce with his friends and family. Robert was loved by many and will be missed. He says his greatest accomplishment in life was his family.

Robert will have a funeral service on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Williams Memorial Chapel with a graveside service following at DFW National Cemetery, on Wednesday evening there will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
