Obituary for Robert E. Behr, Jr. Robert E. Behr, Jr., of Sellersville, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, surrounded by his family, in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. He was 70. Born in Braddock, PA, he was the son of the late Robert E., Sr. and Alice Constance (Holohan) Behr.

Bob was a 1967 graduate of Claymont High School, Claymont, Delaware. Mr. Behr was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having served as a radio operator in Germany. While in Delaware, he had volunteered with the local fire company and ambulance squad.

Bob had been employed from 1970-2006 at the former Delbar Products, Inc., Perkasie. Accompanied everywhere by his beloved “best friend,” a nine- year old Alaskan Malamute SPCA-rescue named “Daytona,” Bob could be found every morning having an early breakfast and coffee at Nock’s Café, Sellersville. From there, he would generally go to the Sellersville Museum, where he would spend hours working on various renovation projects and exhibits.

He was a dedicated volunteer who spent countless hours aiding his “second family,” the museum staff. A passionate lover of history, especially Sellersville’s, Bob’s home was a mini-museum of artifacts and collectibles. His favorite topics of discussion were antiques and local history.

His interest in antiques extended to his restoration of a 1949 Buick ambulance, which he displayed at various car shows and in parades, often accompanied by his grandchildren. A selfless man, who always put everyone ahead of himself, Bob was always willing to tackle a home repair project and offer a helping hand to neighbors. He most loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his son, Paul R. Behr, and his wife, Sue, of Sellersville; his daughter, Theresa A. Brown, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; six grandchildren, Christopher and his fiancé, Emily, Nicholas, Rachel, Justin, Bethany, and Brianna; and his brother, Larry Behr, and his wife, Janet, of Champion, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Laird.

His funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Sellersville Historical and Achievement Authority, c/o Sellersville Borough, 140 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
