Obituary for Robert Pierce II Robert Edwin Pierce Jr., 70, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his home. He was born on January 23, 1948, the son of the late Robert Edwin Pierce Sr. and Helen Jean (Potter) Bird. Robert was a member of the 1966 graduating class of Harper Creek High School in Battle Creek, MI.

He joined the United States Army in September of 1968 and was honorably discharged on December 7th, 1972. While Serving his country he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Robert was employed at Kellogg’s from 1969 to 1999.

He enjoyed his retirement years as an avid hunter and fisherman. From 1983 to 1993 Robert competition hunted Redbone Coonhounds. In 1992 Pierce’s Mich Red Reble Coonhound was named the Purina Outstanding Coonhound Grand Nite Champion.

Robert spent his last few years racing at the local raceways on the weekends. He even saw his car raced at the famed Bristol Motor Speedway in 2017. Robert is survived by his Sons, Robert (Micheleen) Pierce of Marshall, MI and Eric (Katie Werkema) McCulloch of Battle Creek, MI; Grandchildren, Paige McCulloch and Caleb McCulloch; Great Grandson, Carson McCulloch; Brother, Richard Pierce of Battle Creek, MI and Special Friend, Linda Elliott of Dowling, MI.
