Robert Francis Graham, September 29, 1931 — February 08, 2019

Robert’s Obituary Robert Francis Graham, age 87, of Bethany Beach, DE formerly of Rockville, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 8, 2019 at his home. He was born in Washington, D.C. son of the late John Thomas and Catherine Marie (Spellman) Graham. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1953-1955.

Bob graduated from Georgetown University and received his Master’s Degree from American University. Bob worked as a contract administrator for the FBI and then transferred to the State Department retiring in 1995, with a total of 25 years of service to the federal government. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Rosensteel Council #2169 in Silver Spring, MD, a volunteer and faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, DE, a former mentor at Frankford Elementary School in Frankford, DE and also delivered Meals on Wheels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Graham. Bob was deeply devoted to his loving wife of 65 years Hilda Mary (Ring) Graham; a loving father to his 8 children, Michael Graham (Sheila) of Bowie, MD, Susan Morris (John) of Camp Hill, PA, Timothy Graham (Debra) of Mount Airy, MD, Ellen Graham of Baltimore, MD, Robert F. Graham, Jr. (Beth) of Pittsburgh, PA, Patrick Graham (Mary K) of Catonsville, MD, Brian Graham (Molly) of Kensington, MD and Paul Graham (Susan) of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Lois Jones (Dennis) of Kensington, MD and Helen Popplewell of Los Angeles, CA; 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE 19930, where friends may call after 11 AM.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bob’s name to Smile Train, 633 Third Avenue, 9th Floor, New York, NY 10017 or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
