Obituary for Robert J. Harper Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his home with his family at his side. Age 86 years. Son of the late John and Nancy (Fairchild) Harper, Robert was born April 18, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Jeanette L. Swan on July 7, 1952. She predeceased him March 23, 2015.

Bob was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear Plant #2 retiring in 1994. Bob was a member of the New Life Christian Fellowship Church, the Korean War Veterans Association and the American Legion Post #439. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, traveling and cruises.

Surviving to cherish his memory are four daughters and their spouses, Susan Cowles, North Carolina; Nancy and Randy French, Freeland; Lynette and Gary Johnson, Swartz Creek; Patty and Bill Sova, Freeland; nine grandchildren, Robert (Roxanne) Czerney, Jason (Jennifer) Czerney, Nicholas (Dawn) French, Jennifer (Kevin) Allen, Nicole (Bill) Law, Kristine Atwell, Ryan (Carrie) Johnson, Graham Sova and his fiancée Jackie, Seth (Jessica) Sova; ten great-grandchildren, Shannon, Carson, Autumn, Lucas, Morgan, Madalyn, Hunter, Harper, Cyanne, Maverick and Phoenix; his sister, Sandy (John) McCullough, Lake Wales, Florida; several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by a grandson, David Czerney; a son-in-law, Jim Cowles; his sisters, Donna Kickland and Joyce Emery; and his brother, Kenneth Harper. Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 6115 Shattuck Rd.

, Saginaw. Pastor Jeff Ralph will officiate with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post #439. Honoring Mr. Harper’s wishes, cremation will follow with entombment in Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
