Robert L. Sosna December 08, 1934 – January 20, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card HOYT – Robert L. Sosna, 84, of Hoyt, died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 8, 1934 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Frank and Anna Bartkoski Sosna. He graduated from Ward High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.

Bob was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at Mayetta and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He worked for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1990. He married Dorothy “Dot” Dolinar on April 7, 1956 in Kansas City.

She survives, of the home. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank Sosna, Jr. Other survivors include four daughters, Cheryl Stewart, Topeka, Denise Murray (Brian), Hoyt, Susan Shumaker (Roger) and Lori Winter, all of Topeka; two brothers, Edward Sosna, Raytown, MO and Donald Sosna, Overland Park; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25th at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at Hoyt. Bob will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt, where a Rosary will prayed at 6:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 7:30. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or Midland Care, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 280, Hoyt, 66440.
