Following many years of poor health related to Parkinson’s disease, he passed away of natural causes. Robert was born in Salt Lake City, to Norman and Eleanor (Park) Hatch, on September 14, 1942.

He married his sweetheart, Sharon (Chatterley), in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1970. In 1976 they built their home in Bountiful. Robert spent many hours using his talents and his ability for fine workmanship to improve the home, building a playhouse, a decorative wall and brick shed in the yard, finishing the basement, and other projects.

He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout his life, however, he is perhaps most remembered for the many years he served as the Cub Scout Master. He was proud to be part of the Utah Olympic Public Safety Command during the 2002 Olympics. Following retirement, he devoted his time to family history work, and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Eleanor Hatch, and sister Georgia (Jack) Weber.
