Robert “Pap” Milton Wantz, 77, of Pleasant Valley, Maryland, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 22, 1941 in Pleasant Valley, Maryland, he was the son of the late Leander C. Wantz and Helen Fannie (Feeser) Wantz. He was the husband of Darla Walton Wantz.

Bob worked as a brick and block mason for over 50 years and retired in 2003. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, napping, and watching Fox News. He was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Valley Fire Department and member of the Taneytown Senior Center.

He loved his pet dogs and spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Robert Leander Wantz and wife Candy of Pleasant Valley; daughter, Barbara Marie Wantz of Pleasant Valley; step-son, Scott Patterson of Sterling, VA; step-daughters, Hope Johnson of Bulls Gap, TN, and Wendy Valonis of Westminster; sister, Pauline Patterson of Pleasant Valley; grandchildren, Jennifer Boyd and husband Robert, Larissa Costello and husband Chad, Austin and Shawn Mullins; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Greyson, Ivan, and Sage. Also surviving are numerous step-grandchildren and spouses, and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Feeser Wantz. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster with the Rev. Virgil Cain officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 7th from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday, October 8th from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home at the above address to help with final expenses.
