Robert Poplasky, 80 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Robert was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ. He would go on to graduate from Bayonne High School.

Robert and his wife Jean moved to Old Bridge, 41 years ago, and that is where they would raise their family. Robert worked at the Es County Sheriff’s office, retiring at a rank of Captain. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

In his spare time Robert enjoyed family, fun and food, and watching his favorite baseball team, the NY Yankees. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Sigmund and Thelma (Siegel) Poplasky, and by his son-in-law, Richard Stark. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Jean (Orlando), by his loving daughters, Cynthia Machado and her husband Robert, Denise Lodato and her husband Armando, Laura Stark, and Robyn Grimm and her husband Jay, by his cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Nicholas Lodato, Madeline Grimm, and Bennett Stark, by his brother, Raymond Poplasky and his wife Eleanor, and by his sister-in-law, Bobbi Starkey.

He will be missed by his nephews, grandnieces and many friends. Assembling at funeral home on Tuesday at 9:15 AM, a funeral mass will follow at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Redeemer Church located at 133 Amboy Road Matawan, New Jersey 07747. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
