Obituary for Robert T. Horne Sr Robert T. Horne, Sr., 93, of Ridgeville, husband of Joyce Smoak Horne, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 6 to 8 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, June 1, 2018 at 2 o’clock at Midland Park United Methodist Church, 2301 Midland Park Rd.

, N. Charleston, SC. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave. , N. Charleston, SC 29406.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Midland Park United Methodist Church, 2301 Midland Park Rd. , N. Charleston, SC 29406 Robert was born on January 14, 1925 in Wadesboro, NC, son of the late John and Pearl Horne. He was a graduate from North Charleston High School.

He was an Army veteran who served in World War 2 and served in Europe with the 90th infantry Division. He retired after 30 years as a Lieutenant at the Charleston County police department. He was member of Midland Park UMC, S.C.L.E.

O association, F.O.P, and a longtime member of Camp Hall #1 hunt club. He was an avid deer hunter. Survivors including his wife Joyce of 25 years are: two daughters: Linda H. Taylor of Mt.

Pleasant and Deidre H. House (Luis) of Bonneau; one son: Robert “Tommy” Horne, Jr. of Givhans; four grandchildren: Abby Potts (Keefe), Matthew Taylor, Christopher Benton (Tiffany) and Ashley Longsine; four great grandchildren; one brother John Horne (Judy) of Mt. Pleasant, NC; two sisters: Frances Fuller of N. Charleston and Sarah Propes of Wilson, NC. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www.
