Obituary for Dorothy Rudd Carter Dorothy Emily Rudd Carter, 92, of Charleston, wife of the late Wilbur Ashley Carter, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Hospice of Charleston. Family and friends are invited to attend Dorothy’s graveside service Friday, May 25, 2018 at 10 o’clock at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd. , Summerville, SC 29485.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Rd. , Charleston, SC 29407 or Hospice of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Blvd. , Mt.

Pleasant, SC 29464. Dorothy was born on November 5, 1925 in Sandridge, SC, daughter of the late Hiram and Estee Rudd. Dorothy had a gift for serving others and had a passion for Genealogy.

Survivors include: two sons: Wilbur A. Carter, Jr. (Jayne) and Mark Wayne Carter (Dianne) both of Givhans; two daughters: Patricia Carter of Boone, NC and Cheryl Sloan Rees (Roger) of Beaverton, OR; eight grandchildren: Lisa Kepinski (Pawel), Frank Hughes, Jr., Emily Hughes, Christopher Carter (Lane), David Carter (Denise), Robert Sloan (Caroline), Brad Sloan (Amanda) and Ashley Sloan; 15 great grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers.
