Robert L. Tate, II, 86, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife on Monday, February 11, 2019, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born on February 1, 1933 in Evansville to the late Robert and Cordia (Lutz) Tate. Bob owned and operated a construction company for over 40 years.

He was active in the Metropolitan Evansville Home Builders Association serving as president for two terms. Bob also served several terms on the Indiana Home Builders Association Board of Directors. He served his country in both the Army for three years and the Air Force for 13 years.

He was a Korean War veteran while serving in the army. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his children, Valerie (Dennis) Conn, Karen (Robert) Scott, Chris (Julee) Tate, David Tate, Leslie (Bruce) Whipkey and Kevin Tate; grandchildren, Laura Cacei, Robert Mangold, Eric Scott, Mandi Jillson, James McClernon, Sarah Lord, Crystal Rickman, Michael Galloway, Corbet Ashby, Jacob Tate, John Tate, Jocelyn Tate, A.J. Whipkey and Sarah Loscher; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lauretta (Hancock) Tate; sons, Robert L. Tate, III and James Michael Allen Tate; grandson, Larry Scott; sisters, Roberta Fife and Gloria Reynolds; and brother, Jack Tate. Visitation will be 12:00 to 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 North First Avenue. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
