Robert Wayne “Freck” Hurst, 68, of Dawson, Georgia passed away at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital on September 9, 2018. A memorial service will be held at Harvey Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Freck was born in Albany, Georgia on August 6, 1950.

He graduated from Terrell County High School and worked for GTE/Alltel/Windstream for more than twenty-eight years. He was a member of Chickasawhatchee Baptist Church. Freck was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Gilbert; his father, Corbin Hurst; and his brother, Ronnie Hurst.

He is survived by his wife, Tami Wheeler Hurst; son, Nicholas Hurst; sister, Betty Childress; aunt, Myra Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or to Chickasawhatchee Baptist Church.
