Mrs. Roberta Blanks Mitchell 79, of Lake Waccamaw died Monday, April 23,2018 in Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was born in Bladen County, the daughter of the late Howard Blanks and Lutisha Mitchell Blanks. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Mitchell.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of St. James Baptist Church and was a member of the WMU. She attended the NC Baptist Conventions. She is survived by six sons, Ricky Mitchell and wife, Blenda, Jeffrey Mitchell and wife, Pamela, Sanford Mitchell and wife, Charlene, Terry Mitchell and wife, Shevonda, Timmy Mitchell and wife, Frances, Jerry Mitchell and wife, Charlotte all of Lake Waccamaw; a daughter, Glenda Faye Mitchell of Lake Waccamaw; five brothers, Hubert Blanks and wife, Theresa , Earl Blanks and wife, Rosia, Samuel A. Blanks, Joseph Blanks, Phillip Blanks all of Lake Waccamaw; four sisters, Shirley Blanks, Cardella Mitchell, Carolyn Strickland of Lake Waccamaw and Randa Jacobs of Clinton, NC; fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. James Baptist Church by Rev. Curt Locklear and Rev. Graylen Mitchell.

Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6:00 0 8:00 pm Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. James Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.
