Obituary of Robert Gauggel III Robert F. Gauggel, 66, of 5 Brookside Estates Dr. Jamestown, NY, passed away at 6:19 a.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born June 13, 1952 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Robert F. Gauggel, Sr. and the late Joan Keifer Stanton. He was a 1970 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving form November 4, 1971 to October 19, 1974.

He also served for three years in the Army Reserves being honorably discharged on September 20, 1977. Bob had been employed a polisher for the Water St. Brass Company in Ashville, NY and had earlier worked for Bush Industries and the former Chautauqua Hardware Corporation. He was a member of the War Vets Recreation Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved his dog “Sophie”.

Surviving are his three children; Bryant Gauggel of Hickory, NC, Hilleri Shaw of Greenhurst, NY, Elizabeth (Gary) Parker of Foxboro, MA, two grandchildren; Bryant Gauggel, II, Grady Parker , a great grandson; Owen Gauggel, two sisters; Shari (Gary) Rowe, Marcia (James) Frangione both of Jamestown, his Dad; Ray Stanton and his companion Mary Fry with whom he made his home. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary W. Gauggel who died November 18, 2017. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
