Obituary of Robert Boughton, Jr. Robert J. Boughton, Jr., age 71, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Carmela Furnari Boughton, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital, two days prior to his 45th wedding anniversary. Born in East Haven on March 17, 1947, he was a son of the late Robert J. Boughton Sr. and Inez Simons Boughton and a U. S. Army veteran. Bob worked for many years as a butcher for local area supermarkets and was a member of the AFL-CIO Union.

He volunteered at St. Margaret’s Shrine and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling the world with his wife. He was a friend to many as an AA Sponsor. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Eileen Wong and her husband Brian of Mamaroneck, NY, Amy Boughton of Stamford, and Michael Boughton and his wife Erin of Easton, MA, four sisters, Anita Shmigelsky and her husband Peter of Bethany, Delia Leary and her husband John, Inez Griffiths and Beverly Ann Lauria, all of East Haven, three grandchildren, Cameron, Jackson and Shaelyn, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Robert J. Boughton, III, two brothers, Edward and Donald Boughton, and a sister, Nancy Poirier. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Avenue, Bridgeport on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
