Rochelle’s Obituary Rochelle Ann Kindelsperger, 80, of Cordova, IL, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her son’s home in Port Byron. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 22, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Cordova. Friends may greet the family from 10 – 11 am prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Cordova. Rochelle was born November 5, 1938 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Bertrum D. and Daphane Faye (Nixon) Slininger. She married Kenneth Kindelsperger in 1955; they later divorced.
She was a police officer with the Oklahoma State Police, where she retired after many years of service . Upon retiring she came back to Illinois and worked in janitorial services at 3M in Cordova and for Riverdale Schools in the lunch program. She enjoyed adventurous things including stock car racing and breaking horses.
Rochelle loved hiking in the Wichita Mountains with her brother-in-law and sister, David and Valerie Dodge and good friend Laura McGill. Rochelle is survived by her children, Kevin (Debbie) Kindelsperger, Zanesfield, OH, Korina (Bill) Mathias, Silvis; Kurt (Kris) Kindelsperger, Port Byron; son-in-law, Jim (Deb) Golden, Louisiana; 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ivy Golden; 3 siblings, Valerie, Danny and Kathleen; and very special friend, Leo Cooksey “Tippy”.
