Roderick E. “Dicky” Bedard, Sr. Loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle Roderick E. “Dicky” Bedard, Sr., 89, a lifelong resident and one of seventeen children of Pelham, died Saturday, October 27th at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Born in Pelham, New Hampshire, February 3, 1929, a son of the late Arthur and the late Georgiana (Rondeau) Bedard, he attended Pelham schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. A veteran during the Korean Conflict, Dicky proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Before retiring, he was employed as a Glazier with the Glazier’s Union Local #1044 out of Roslindale, Massachusetts for over 50 years. Among his many interests, Dicky had a passion for and loved farming. His greatest joy however, was spending time with his family.

Mr. Bedard is survived by four sons Roderick E. Bedard, Jr. of Texas and Richard G. Bedard, David J. Bedard and Joseph J. Bedard and his wife Maryann all of Pelham; two daughters Ann M. Smith of Hampton, NH and Rita G. Bedard and her partner Edward L. Ally of Pelham; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers Raymond Bedard, Ronald Bedard and his wife Roberta and Arthur Bedard and his wife Theresa all of Pelham; three sisters Carmen Nichols of Lawrence, Jackie Blanchette and her husband Phil of Pelham and Muriel Paradis and her husband Arthur of Peterborough, NH; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was also father of the late Geralyn M. St. Amand. Family and friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 Nashua Road in Pelham form 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday.
