Obituary for Roger Dale Littlefield WHITE SETTLEMENT – Roger Dale Littlefield, 67, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, after battling cancer for over 3 1/2 years. Born on Nov. 21, 1950, in Blue Springs, Ala.

to Huey and Esther Littlefield. At age 13, he came to Texas to live with his sister and her husband. Roger went to work with his brother-in-law, who began teaching him the trade of auto paint and body.

While at Brewer High School, he advanced his knowledge of auto repair through the paint and body trade class. After graduating in 1970, he went on to college for two years while still working a full time job. He joined the Texas Army National Guard in July, 1971.

On Aug. 28, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Charlsea Barger. They have been married for over 46 years.

During his 24 years of service in the Texas Army National Guard, he earned numerous ribbons, commendations and awards. Roger also worked several years for the Department of the Army. He opened Roger’s Auto Paint and Body Shop, which he owned for over 10 years.

He was hired in 1999 by the Department of Homeland Security’s FEMA. There, he maintained over 1,000 pieces of equipment used in disasters. He was given several awards for his service and dedication during his tenure.

He retired in 2016 after 17 years with FEMA. Roger never met a stranger. His contagious smile, outgoing personality, great sense of humor and storytelling ability always made him stand out.

He could fix almost anything, and if he didn’t know, he would find out on YouTube. He and Charlsea have always traveled and enjoyed multiple trips since retirement. He loved old country music, singing it and dancing to it.

He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, working on cars, but his favorite past-time was spending time with his four grandchildren. Roger was a member of the Masonic Lodge in White Settlement and the American Legion. Survivors: Wife, Charlsea; sons, Brent Littlefield of White Settlement and Brian Littlefield and wife, Miranda of Aledo; grandchildren, Mason Littlefield, Alexis Littlefield, Arden Littlefield and Ella Littlefield; brother, Harold Littlefield and wife, Sherril of Alpharetta, Ga; sister, Patricia Cole of Headland, Ala.

; sister-in-law, Barbara Littlefield of Blue Springs, Ala. ; brother-in-law, Joey Barger and wife, Charlotte of White Settlement; sister-in-law, Melanie Wentz and husband, Ron of Aledo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
