Ronald J. Vekas, 80, of North Lima, Ohio, died Tuesday evening November 20, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Youngstown. He was born May 6, 1938 in Waynesburg, PA, son of Michael and Clara (Armstrong) Vekas . Ronald worked as a Programmer for General Fireproofing.

He was a member and deacon of the former Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church until they merged with the present Canfield Presbyterian Church, where he is still a member. Ronald loved traveling, camping, skiing, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He leaves his wife.

Martie Vekas of North Lima; two daughters, Cherie Vekas, and Paula (David) Ritter of New Middletown, and two grandchildren, Mary Ritter, and John Ritter. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 24, 2018 at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman with Pastor Larry Bowald officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
