Ronald Lee Ruble, 76, of West Burlington, IA died February 10, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House. The son of James Ament and Thelma Marlette Ruble, Ron was born in Wapello, IA on August 19, 1942. Ron was a locksmith by trade, owning and operating several shops over the years.

He enjoyed bike riding, including RAGBRAI, also enjoyed fishing, taking care of birds and every stray that found him. He was big hearted and compassionate and quick with a joke. He loved making people laugh with his one liners and play on words.

Ron married Carolyn Bergen in 1959. They later divorced. Ron is survived by his wife Sharon (Blake) of 52 years and brother Gary Allen Ruble of Middletown, IA.

Other survivors include sons, Ronald Adams (Winfield), Ryan Kirt Adams (Tammy) of Morning Sun; David Ruble, of Salem, OR; Daughters, Rhonda Howard of Burlington, and Rebecca Ruble of Battle Ground, WA; step-daughters, Michele (Terry) Haliston of Vancouver, WA and Teresa (Gary) Devoh of Rockford, IL. Grandchildren: James and Heather Andrus, Rebecca Adams, Ryan (Dawnivon) Adams, Jamee Howard, David Charles Ruble, Jr., Aleesa, Nicole and Andrea Stoolfire. Step-grandchildren: Nick and Doug Little, Mariah and Elijah Haliston, Bryce and Brawsyn Devol; great-grandchildren: Alex Adams, Cera Adams, Keaton Adams, Skye, Sheaden and Sully Adams.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, brothers James and Kenneth, sister, Shawn Timmerman as well as grandson, Jonathan Adams.
