Rosa’s Obituary CHASE – Rosa Aletha Woods Lyons, 82, of Chase, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at Big Rapids Hospital. Rosie was born on Aug.

2, 1936, in Nirvana, to Millard “John” Woods and Gladys Orpha Batchelder Woods, and grew up on the family farm in Nirvana, one of 10 siblings. She attended the one-room school at Nirvana, and Baldwin High School, getting her GED at the age of 50. She worked at Rancor Manufacturing in Reed City, Dunums Manufacturing in Big Rapids, and then retired from the TRV Center in Baldwin.

She was a member of the Lake County Sheriff’s Posse for many years. Rosie loved adventures outdoors, spending many fun times in the woods and camping with her siblings and large family. Her family built a stagecoach which rode in many parades.

She loved working with horses. Rosie was known for her cooking skills, especially her homemade baked beans, which were requested at family gatherings. Growing up on the family farm, there wasn’t anything she couldn’t tackle.

She was known for her kind and giving heart, and also for her inner strength. She especially was close to her sisters, Lilly Woods and Pauline Croft, and Pauline’s daughters, Debbie (Steve) DuBreuil, of Nirvana, and Chris (John) Jebrael, of St. Clair, who were like daughters to her. Rosie is survived by her sons, Clifford (Eve) Lyons of Chase, and Raymond (Vivian) Lyons of Reed City; siblings: Johnny Woods of Hawkins, Pauline Croft and Lilie Woods of Nirvana, and sister-in-law Avis Gerber of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, James Woods, Robert Woods and Ephraim Woods; sisters, Sarah Zeitz, Bernice Dehorn and Elsie Avery; sisters-in-law, Opal Woods, Buelah Woods and Lilian Woods; and brothers-in-law, Orlo Zeitz, Jim Dehorn, Carl Avery, Russ Gerber, and Charles Croft. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home.

The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be no graveside service or lunch until spring.
