Obituary for Rosella Richards Rosella Richards, 91 Palm Springs, CA Rosella Richards, 91 of Palm Springs, CA formerly of Kearney, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Rio Rancho, NM. Funeral services will 11:00 am Friday, June 15, 2018 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Memorials are suggested the American Heart Association.

Rosella was born April 14, 1927 in Shelton, Nebraska to Alpha and Blanche (Gray) Henderson. She lived in Shelton until she was 14 years old and then moved to Gibbon. On April 10, 1946, Rosella was united in marriage to Max E. Richards in Smith Center, KS.

To this union three daughters were born; Kathleen, Brenda and Linda. During her married life they lived in many places, but mostly in Gibbon, NE, Kearney, NE and Redondo Beach, CA. While in Gibbon, she was a longtime waitress before becoming Co-owner of a Café in Gibbon.

After moving to California, Rosella was employed at The Aerospace Corporation. They enjoyed camping and fishing and belonged to the Kearney Eagles Camping Club and Grand Island Eagles Camping Club. She was an Auxiliary member of the Kearney Eagles Club and the American Legion in Chino, CA.

She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Salvatore) Palazzola, Brenda (Jay) Williamson and Linda (Paul) Dincin. ; 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother Larry (Jolene) Weakly, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and one sister.
