Obituary for LaVonne M. Loseke LaVonne M. Loseke, 90 Kearney resident LaVonne M. Loseke, 90 of Kearney died Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Keens Memorial Home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Thursday at the First Lutheran Church in Kearney.

Interment will be 3:30 pm at Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorials are suggested to Cambridge Court, Mount Carmel Home, or Camp Carol Joy Holling.

LaVonne was born May 26, 1928 in rural Colfax County, Nebraska to Emil and Marie (Henke) Schaefer. She attended elementary school in Lyons Ne, continued her schooling in Schuyler and was a 1946 graduate of Kramer High School in Columbus. On April 18, 1954, LaVonne was united in marriage to Elno Durkop.

Mr. Durkop passed away in November of 1966. She would later marry A. Glenn Kluck until his death in 1993. On April 22, 1994, LaVonne married Gilbert Loseke in Columbus, after which the couple moved to Kearney.

She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Kearney and served on the board for Camp Carol Joy Holing for many years. LaVonne volunteered at the Red Cross and the Humane Society. She and Gilbert enjoyed being members of Kiwana’s Golden K Club.

Gilbert passed away in October of 2012. Survivors include her daughter Sue Russell and her husband Rod of Kearney; grandchildren Brenda Kitabatake and husband Yuji and their children Koji, Yumi, Kazuki and Hanami of Kearney; John Russell and wife Stephanie and their children Nehemiah, Eliakim of Windsor, CO; Jim Russell and wife Heather and their children Annalise and William of Kearney; stepchildren, Genene Pook and husband Doug of Olympia, WA, Galen Kluck and wife Pam of Richland, NE, Dianne Brown of Lincoln; Donn Loseke and wife Cathy of Dubois, WY, Sherry Loseke of Tacoma, WA, Kristine Kluck of Lincoln, Nathan Brown and wife Alyssa of California, Anna Dunn and husband Stephen of Murrieta, CA, Alexandra Sepulveda and husband Jeremy Morgan of Brisbane, CA, Adam Kluck of Columbus, Mike Loseke and wife Jenn of Frederick, CO, Shawn Loseke and wife Jaclyn of Johnstown, CO, Aaron Chileski and wife Kelly of Dubois, WY, Melissa Woodland and husband Ben of North Carolina; 10 step great grandchildren; siblings, brother Donald Schaefer of Hillsboro, OR; Sister Donna Lindeman of Columbus; sister-in-law Joyce Schaefer of Broken Arrow, OK. LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Edwin Schaefer; brother-in-law Eldon Lindeman.
