Obituary for Raymond Stanley Morrison Raymond “Stanley” Morrison, 80, of Alliance, Nebraska passed away on May 31, 2018 at 4:22 pm at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Duane Grotz Farm, 1018 Road L, York, NE. Martin Wilson, Warren Taylor and Ron Thomke will officiate.

Visitation is planned from 12:30 until service time. Burial will be at Council Cemetery west of York with Leslie Pountney and LeRoy Sandford officiating. Visit www.

hlmkfuneral.com to leave a tribute or message of condolence. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney is in charge of arrangements. Stanley was born on December 6, 1937 to Hubert and Stella (Peterson) Morrison near Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

He was the oldest of 9 children and made his choice to serve the Lord at age 16. Stan graduated high school in 1956 with a full ride scholarship to become a civil engineer, instead he became a homeless minister on May 11, 1957. He spent the rest of his life serving in the gospel work.

He labored in Colorado, Minnesota, Utah, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. Stan loved preaching the gospel! He had hope for all souls, and was never afraid to knock on a door and extend a gospel invitation.

In his travels, he became “family” to many. He loved children and enjoyed teaching them about Jesus. He loved the outdoors, with his keen eyesight he could spot wildlife and arrowheads when others overlooked them.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Stella, brother Lawrence, three brothers-in-law Joe Schmidt, Larry Schaffstall, and Wayne Wyatt, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Morrison. He is survived by sister Marie Schaffstall of Monte Vista, Colorado; brother Martin Morrison of Lakeview, Oregon; sister Janet (Everett) Wilson of Bayfield, Colorado; sister Joyce Wyatt of Arvada, Colorado; brother Greg (Florine) Morrison of Bayfield, Colorado; brother Paul (Margo) Morrison of Bayfield, Colorado; sister Phyllis (Bill) McConnell of Fort Morgan, Colorado. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, co-workers and friends.
