Obituary for Felis C. Cervantes Jr. Felis C. Cervantes Jr., 70, of Kearney died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Grand Island Lakeview Care Home and Rehab. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., July 27, 2018 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dean Pofahl officiating. Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later. There will be no visitation. Felis was born July 3, 1948 to Felis and Juanita (Canales) Cervantes in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He joined the Army in 1968 and served during Vietnam until 1971. After the service, Felis moved to Kearney and worked for Chief Industries. He also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 25 years.

Felis married Tammy Walburn on July 2, 1991 in Kearney. Felis enjoyed bowling, playing the guitar, and singing. Felis is survived by his wife Tammy Cervantes of Kearney; daughters, Tammy Cervantes of Minden, Janet Cervantes of Minden, Juanita Cervantes of Kearney, Yolanda Cervantes of Kearney; sons, Danny Cervantes of Minden, Lucan Cervantes of Hastings, Felis Cervantes Jr. of Kearney, John Cervantes of Kearney; step-daughter Tanya Lopez, of Kearney; many grandchildren; brothers, Victor Cervantes of Kearney, Eduardo Cervantes of Kearney; sisters Teresa Eaton of Corpus Christi, TX, and Mary Hernandez of Kearney.
