Obituary for Patricia “Patty” Klinkacek It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia “Patty” Cudaback Klinkacek announces her passing away from cancer on Saturday, July 7th, 2018, just one week shy of her 80th birthday. Patty is forever loved and remembered by her only surviving sibling, brother Roger Cudaback of Kearney, NE. Patty called Roger “her rock” because he was there every step of the way through her illness.

Patty has three children from her first marriage in November of 1957 to David Herd, who also express a deep love and loss of their mother. From oldest to youngest, her children and their spouses are: * William “Bil” Herd, and Cindy Herd – Williamstown, NJ. * Victoria “Vikki” Herd and Rick Shaw – Los Angeles, CA.

* Kristine “Kristi” Herd and David Heard – Boulder, CO. Patty also has a grandson, Joel Herd, son of Bil and Cindy, who sadly misses his “Grandma Nebraska”. Patty’s presence is also missed by her step-son and wife, Mark and Marilyn Klinkacek from Omaha, NE and their three children; Joesph, Evan, and Leah.

There are many, many other nieces and nephews who forever remember their Aunt Patty and her Cudaback humor. Patty’s ever-loving canine companion Sophie is also saddened by the loss of her owner. Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Marjorie Cudaback, and by her second husband, Alvin J. Klinkacek.

Also previously passed away are two brothers, Wayne and Emery Cudaback, a beloved sister, Virginia “Ginger” Rachow, along with Emery’s wife Joyce, and Virginia’s husband Buford. Patty was the third of five children. She grew up and went to school in Gibbon, NE.

As a teenager, she moved to Omaha to become an Arthur Murray dance school instructor where she met her first husband. They lived in Iowa, Ohio, and Indiana as they raised their kids. Patty was often involved in the local civic theater, and liked to sew everything from costumes to school clothes for her kids.

In the late 70’s, Patty moved back home to Nebraska when she met Alvin, and became a farmer’s wife in Sodtown, NE. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, writing poetry, and she became a very popular Avon Lady in Ravenna, NE. She was an active member of the Sodtown and Ravenna Methodist Churches, the Ravenna Senior Center, and the Buffalo County Farm Bureau.
