Obituary for Victoria Applegarth Victoria Applegarth, 93, of Kearney died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Home and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be Monday, July 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Church in Kearney.

Father Christopher Morris will officiate and burial will be at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation is planned Sunday from 6:00 to 7:00p.m., followed by a Trisagion Prayer Service at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Memorials are suggested to St. Geroge Orthodox Church or Mt.

Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney is in charge of arrangements. She was born January 28, 1925 in Litchfield, NE to John and Helen (Karam) Shada. She grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School.

She married Glen Dobberstein and he passed away shortly after they were married. She later married Lee Applegarth. Victoria lived in Arkansas then Colorado before moving back to Kearney in 1982.

She worked at Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney as the director of housekeeping. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church and the Kearney V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Victoria enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Vicky Dettloff and husband David of Thornton, CO; son Lee R. Applegarth of Hot Springs, AR; step son, Jerry Donzi of Arvada, CO; grandchildren, Michael Blood and Victoria Dettloff both of North Glenn, CO, Karl Dettloff of Longmont, CO; great grandchildren, Elijah Ortiz, Damien, Alexi and Tylie Dettloff. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
