Obituary of Ross Melvin Ross D. Melvin, 56, of Eastwood, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his home. He was born August 7, 1962, in Syracuse, the son of Merle D. and Ann Ross Melvin. Ross was a graduate of Manlius Pebble Hill School, Class of 1980 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York in 1992.

He was a Free & Accepted Mason, and was a member of DeWitt Community Church. Ross was an accomplished pianist, and was recognized by Civic Morning Musicals for his ability. He also worked occasionally as an organist.

He was a veracious reader, and especially enjoyed the book “War and Peace”. Ross was self-employed, having pursed various interests. He is survived by his parents, Merle D. Melvin of Fayetteville and Ann Ross Melvin of Liverpool; his brother and sister-in-law, John W. and Jill Melvin of Cazenovia; four nephews, Ian and Ryan Melvin and Dean and Luke Taylor; and six cousins.

Ross was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Ann and Lieutenant Colonel Kip Taylor. His service of remembrance will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:30 am at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt. His celebration of life visitation will be Thursday from 10-11:30 am, prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to Symphoria in his memory.
