Obituary for Roy Charles Hormig Roy Charles Hormig, 87, of South Beloit, IL, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1931 in Beloit, WI, the son of Charles and Eva (Lang) Hormig. Roy was a 1949 graduate of Beloit High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from University of Wisconsin College of Agriculture in 1969.

Roy was employed by the City of Beloit Public Works Department as a Night Watchman for 25 years. He formerly owned a 120 acre farm in Lindenwood, IL in which he took great pride in. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church, Roscoe, IL and helped with the Awana Club.

Roy was also a member of the Clinton Memorial V.F.W. Post, the Clinton American Legion Dary Paulsen Post #440, and the Masonic Morning Star Lodge #10 for 64 years. Roy enjoyed being outdoors and taking care of the lawn. He collected John Deere Tractors and took one in parades fond of diesel engines.

Survivors include his brother, Paul (Jacqueline) Hormig of South Beloit, IL; nephews, Brian (Lori) Hormig of Cross Plains, WI, Brad Hormig of South Beloit, IL, Dan (Marcia) Hormig of Windom, MN, and David Hormig of Liberal, KS; ten great nieces and nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Funeral service for Roy will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Hope Evangelical Free Church, 5656 Elevator Rd.

, Roscoe, IL, with Reverend Carl Olson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery with Military honors accorded by the Clinton Memorial V.F.W. Post and the Clinton American Legion Dary Paulsen Post #440. Visitation of remembrance will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the church.
