Obituary for Vernon Truckey Vernon Truckey, 96, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, June 18, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison, WI. He was born December 1, 1921 in Marshfield, WI, the son of Guy and Pauline (Barth) Truckey. Vernon was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He married Pearl Steininger on April 19, 1947 in St. Jude Catholic Church, Beloit, WI. Vernon was formerly employed by the City of Beloit, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed camping, fishing, being outside, cutting firewood, and working on cars.

Vernon was a quiet man and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Pearl of Beloit, WI; children, David Truckey and Cherri (Steve Mauret) Truckey all of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Wendy (Joey) Tejeda, Christopher (Emily) Truckey, Casey (Derick) Baughman, and Shane (Nicole) Meuret; great grandchildren, Lukas Tejeda, Emma and Baylee Truckey, Owen and Alexander Baughman, Koda and Ella Meuret; sister-in-law, Gladys Holmbeck of Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Lorraine O’Brien and brother-in-law, Leland Holmbeck.

Funeral service for Vernon will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, IL, with Military Rites accorded by the V.F.W. Post #2306. Visitation of remembrance will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
