Obituary for Russell Drevdahl Russell Drevdahl, 88, of Loves Park, IL, and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in OSF St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford, IL. He was born September 23, 1929 in Evansville, WI, the son of Russell Leo and Edna Margaret (Bates) Drevdahl. Russell was a 1945 graduate of Beloit High School.

He was a Korean War veteran serving with the U.S. Army as a tank commander. Russell married Roslyn “Rosie” Mahlum of June 27, 1953 in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Russell was formerly employed by Adams Korn Curls for 18 years and retired from Amwood Homes Construction.

He enjoyed doing carpentry, repairing lawn mowers, traveling with his wife to Washington, Las Vegas, Northern Wisconsin and their summer home in Montello. Russ was a hard worker and could always be found in his shop. He was a true giving man and was a MacGyver of his own.

Russ was a member and former commander of the V.F.W. Post #2306. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Survivors include his wife, Rosie Drevdahl of Loves Park, IL; children, Regina Monroe (Bill) of Loves Park, IL, Duane (Sue) Russell Drevdahl of Beloit, WI and Kevin Drevdahl (Rosie) of South Beloit, IL; grandchildren, Joe Drevdahl, Lisa (Matt) Bloedel, Amy Drevdahl, Dillion (Veronica) Drevdhal, Jason Crawley, and Leslie (Bobby) Alverson; seven great grandchildren, Lindzee, Syvana, Jadyn, Brennan, Peyton, Sydney, Mason and Presley; great-great grandchild, Aviana; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Isabelle Drevdahl of Beloit, WI, Royal Mahlum of Shirland, IL, Douglas (Patricia) Mahlum, Wanda (Pete Nucifero) Mahlum and Dorothy Mahlum all of Beloit, WI; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends including Kris Drevdahl of Beloit, WI.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister Beverly Hook, brother Robert Drevdahl, brother-in-laws, sisters-in-law and nephew Donnie Drevdahl. Funeral services for Russell will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Jack Way officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery.
