Obituary for Willard C. Stephenson Willard C. Stephenson, 83, of Beloit, WI, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center. His family was in attendance as his final wish to be with his wife was granted. He was born October 22, 1934 in Manistique, MI, the son of William and Elvor (Gilroy) Stephenson.

Known to his childhood friends as “Hunk” and later in life to most as “Will” or “Steve”, Willard married Carol Ableman on August 30, 1952 in the Church by a Justice of the Peace in Rockford, IL. His began his work experience as an assistant engineer on a Great Lake ore ship. He also drilled water well for many years in the Mid-West.

Willard retired from Janesville Auto Transport Company after thirty-two years as a driver. He was number three in seniority, logged over three million miles without an accident ranking him number one in safety upon retiring. He loved the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family.

Survivors include his children, Deborah (Michael) LaVelle, Michael (Vicki) Stephenson, Kim (David) Kutz; and Chris (Teresa) Stephenson; grandchildren, Lesa (Todd) Witte, Brooke (Adam) Ferger, Michelle Rand, Ryan (Kristin) Stephenson, Kimberly (Jason) Kelnhofer, Mathew Kutz, Sarah Ferrera, Alicia (Justin) Tatum, Patrick Page (Leah Hamm), Andrew Stephenson and Noah Stephenson, twenty-two great grandchildren, sister and brother Mary (Glen) Laidig, William E. Stephenson, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and wife Carol, Step Mother Aneda Bohlman and brother Rick L. Stephenson. A memorial service of remembrance for Willard will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Meding officiating.

He will be laid to rest at Floral Lawn Cemetery South Beloit, IL, next to his wife, sister in-law and brother in-law. Visitation of remembrance will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home. The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to his caregivers at Beloit Health and Rehabilitation Center and Beloit Hospice for their care and understanding on his journey.
