Obituary for Roy L. Wade Farmdale, Ohio – Roy L. Wade, age 89, died at his home on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was born on November 28, 1928 in Jennings, Oklahoma, a son of Viola (Hill) and George Leo Wade. Roy was a 1946 graduate of Vernon High School.

He served in the United States Army Air Corps during the Korean War as a Cryptographer. On September 13, 1949 he married Luella Irene Mushrush. Roy worked as a Mill Wright for the former Copperweld Steel for over thirty-five years, retiring in 1985.

He was a life member of the Harry Lees Post 506 American Legion of Kinsman. Roy liked to tinker in his garage and he never missed a chance to socialize at all the local church dinners. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-three years, Luella I. Wade; two sons, Robert Leland Wade and Rodger Leo Wade; a brother, Bruce G. Wade and his close companion, Bertha Clute.

Survivors include his five children, Linda D. (Dennis) Kilmko of Leesburg, Florida, Karla J. Hines of Phenix City, Alabama, Bryan S. (Cheryl) Wade of Champion, Ohio, Kurtis B. (Linda) Wade of Vernon, Ohio and Kelly N. (Brad) VanKanegan of Kinsman, Ohio; a brother, Robert L. “Tink” Wade of Vernon, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Steven, Brandon, Skye, Adam, Erik, Kurtis, Ian, Brent and Amy; seven great grandchildren, Alex, Aaron, Andrew, Louis, Baylee, Logan and Sophia. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Private burial will be in West View Cemetery in Vernon, Ohio.
