Obituary for John A. Reed John A. Reed, age 64, of Greenville, PA, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at home. He was born January 10, 1954, in Greenville, PA, a son of Glendon L. Reed Sr. and Frances T. (Steger) Reed. A long time area resident, John had lived in Texas, Louisiana, and Wyoming over the years.

He was employed as a directional drilling engineer in the oil industry. He was a sports fan having loved football, especially the Cleveland Browns, and wrestling. He also enjoyed inventing thing that would aid in the directional drilling process and at one time held several patents.

He was known for his kind heart and willingness to help others. He is survived by two sisters, Kathleen B. Snodgrass of Andover, OH, and Rosemary T. Schneider of Pickerington, OH; one brother, Glendon L. Reed, Jr. of Plano, TX; 13 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd.
