Obituary for Roy O’Neal Cothran Roy O’Neal Cothran, 84 went on to meet his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Mr. Cothran was born August 24, 1933 in Moss Point, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Vivian May Krebs Cothran & Thomas Huston Cothran, three brothers Thomas Cothran, Charles Cothran and Earl Cothran, two sisters Marjorie Cothran Danley and Evelyn ‘Chat’ Cothran Stokes.

He is survived by one brother Benjamin ‘Ben’ Cothran, two sons Glen Cothran and wife Paige of Sevierville TN / Mobile AL & Ray Cothran of Moss Point. One daughter Donna Cothran Thompson and husband Kevin of Grand Bay AL, four grandchildren Daniel Thompson and wife April, Erin Thompson, Kimberly Cothran, Katlyn Cothran and one great-grandchild Catherine Marie Thompson. Roy lived life on his own terms and left this life in the same manner.

He had a long career in the US Navy having served in Korea and Vietnam before retiring and coming home to live in Moss Point. He was a 1960 Plank Owner on the USS Preble (DLG-15) as well as the recipient of numerous ship awards. His hobbies were tinkering with his old trucks and tractors, building swings and yard furniture for his family and helping family and neighbors as much as he could.
