Obituary for Ruby Kathryn Krekel Ruby Kathryn Krekel, 78, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 22, 2018. She was born August 15, 1940 in Louisville to the late Charles E. McAdams and Sarah A. Moore McAdams. Ruby was a dental lab manager until her retirement.
She was a devoted wife, mother and sister but her greatest treasure was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruby was a master gardener and enjoyed sewing, U of L sports, decorating for the holidays and cooking her favorite dishes. She was beautiful, smart and like her personality, loved anything that sparkled.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathleen Ellison. Ruby is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Don; daughters, Laura Ellison (Dave), Lynn Olszewski (John), Libby Eppler (Barry) and Lisa Hofmann (Joe); her beloved grandchildren, Beth (Blake) Christenson, Nick (Kylie) Hofmann, George (Deirdre) Olszewski, Jill Ellison, Colleen Olszewski, Jenny Ellison, Maggie (Andrew) Gutierrez, Caroline (Robert) Babcock, Forrest Eppler, Max Hofmann, Olivia Eppler and Kathryn Hoffman; three great-grandchildren, Madison and Kenzie Christenson and Liam Gutierrez and two brothers, Charles (Vivian) and Jerry (Sharron) McAdams. A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 at the funeral home and after 11 a.m. on Saturday until time of service at 12 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
