Hartselle Funeral service for Russell E. “Gene” Durand, 91, will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Herring Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Durand died on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1926, in Colorado to Russell Sam Durand and Lottie Walker Durand. He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church.

He sold tractors and equipment for John Deere and Massey Ferguson prior to his retirement. He loved the outdoors. He loved fishing and camping, was an avid gardener and loved flowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Russell Durand and Lottie Durand Hardwick, a brother: Robert D. Durand, a daughter-in-law: Beverly Durand and his step-father: Hance Hardwick. He will be missed by all that loved him. Survivors include: his Wife: Peggy Dobbs Durand One Son: Mike Durand One Daughter: Beth Shelton (Derrell) Five Grandchildren Twelve Great Grandchildren Pallbearers will be Great Grandsons: Hayden Partlow, Alec Durand, Dillon Langford, Ethan Partlow, Sam Griffin, Jacob Griffin.
