Russell V. Caley, 70, of Milton passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 17, 1947, in Lancaster, WI, (the fifth child of 9) to Willard and Bernice Caley. Russell graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1966.

He married his girl, Sandra Lunde, on March 23, 1968, at First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater. Russell worked at Kikkoman Foods for 24 years. He retired in 2011 to spend time with his family and enjoy life.

Russell will always be remembered as a compassionate, caring, generous man who would help anyone in need. Everyone who knew him was his “best friend”. Russell was so proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He loved hunting with his “boys” and teaching his granddaughter and grandsons to fish at his lake house. Russell was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting and burning wood, working in his garden and tinkering in his barn.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Caley; son, James (Christine) Caley; grandchildren, Zachary, Avery, and Jamison Caley who will remember their grandpa in the many lessons that he taught them about love and life; sisters, Linda Schilter, Lila Funk, Anita Caley; and brother, Richard Caley, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Bernice (Russell) Caley; sister, Verna Kasper; brothers, Roger, Roy and Robert Caley. A celebration of Russell’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, OCTOBER 6, 2018 at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
