Ruth Ann (Barr) Scott, 64, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, (formerly of Tiffin), died at Centerburg Respiratory Care Center, where she had resided for the past 2 ½ years. She was born November 27, 1953, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late George Orval and Ruth Jean (Bennington) Barr. On March 31, 1978, she married Monte W. Scott and they later divorced.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Jeff Caudill and her grandchildren, Mason, Alison, and Drew Caudill, all of Nevada, Ohio; brothers Ron Barr, Pocatello, Idaho; Neal (Sandy) Barr, Belton, Texas; sisters Judy (Floyd) Zabel, Beatrice, Nebraska; Kathleen (William) Decker, Findlay, Ohio; Charlene (Walter) Miller, McCutchenville, Ohio; and Cheryl (Duane) Wisebaker, of Wylie, Texas. She also survived by several very special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She had a special group of friends in Upper Sandusky and very caring nurses, aides, and respiratory therapists that not only took care of her during the last years of her life, but also became her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Ruth worked several places, did a lot of things, and made many of friends all along the way. She lived life to the fullest as much as she could, as life was an adventure for her.
Everyone she knew was happy to be along for the ride. She loved to go shopping, go out to dinner with friends and family, and attend her grandchildren’s sporting events/activities. But her absolute favorite joy in life was simply watching Mason, Alison, and Drew grow up.
Her sisters were her best friends. Each of them made her life complete in little ways that were special to them – a bond that will never be broken. Christmas was her favorite season and driving around to look at lights was one of her favorite things to do.
Family meant the world to her and she always enjoyed seeing them happy. She adored her daughter and son-in-law, who were her life, and cherished every minute with them, her grandchildren, and family and friends. Ruth was an amazing person, full of sweetness, spunk and sass.
And, although she will be missed so much, her spirit (and her spunk) live on in all that who knew her. She stayed as long as she could, and when her ride ended, she simply and peacefully died.
