Obituary for Mrs. SALLIE ANN OLSON DITTO FORT WORTH — Sallie Ann Olson Ditto passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2018. She was 67. SERVICE: 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way, with the Rev.

Phillip Heinze, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating. Following committal prayers, she will be laid to rest in Greenwood Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper.

NOTE: Due to the closure of Montgomery Street on Friday, those attending the church service must use Tulsa Way for access to parking. Born February 10, 1951 in Glendive Montana, Sallie was the daughter of Ivan “Bud” and Dolores Speare Olson. Her childhood was spent in Midland before the family moved to Fort Worth in 1968.

She was among the first graduating class of Southwest High School in 1969. Sallie attended TCU and received her Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising from North Texas State University. After college Sallie started her career with Neiman- Marcus in Dallas.

She was chosen for the elite Executive Training program under the tutelage of Mr. Stanley Marcus, and then went on to manage two departments in the Dallas North Park store. She met Dr. Richard Keith Ditto in 1974; they married on August 9, 1975. Shortly thereafter, the young couple moved to Fort Worth and together, they started Family Eyewear Clinic later known as Village Vision in 1976.

The practice was dedicated to providing quality eye care and eyewear for 37 years. Sallie was very active in the community. She was a member of the Junior League of Fort Worth, Bosom Buddies, Soiree, and Roundelay.

She was on the board of the Woman’s Club of Fort Worth and served as president of one of its groups. She and Keith enjoyed traveling, including Europe, Mexico, New York City, Hawaii, and many other places in the USA. After a breast cancer diagnosis and treatments, Sallie became an avid volunteer at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School where she helped guide other patients through the perils and successes of that disease both at the clinic as well as countless hours of personal guidance to patients and families.

Her personal sacrifices to help others was a big part of a personality that was dedicated to serving and giving to family, church, community, friends and strangers alike. Her faith in Christ never wavered and Sallie leaves behind a wealth of people whose lives she touched. Sallie’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and surgeons who took care of her after this last diagnosis of glioblastoma, Anastacia Hernandez, Melissa Agwata, as well as the many friends who provided meals, visits and prayers during this difficult period.

You are all loved. A special thank you to Pastor Heinze and thanks to Trinity Lutheran Church for allowing and participating in the use of their sanctuary for the celebration of her life. She was preceded in death by her father and sister, Cynthia Olson Carr.

SURVIVORS: In addition to her husband, Keith, Sallie is survived by her children, Richard Geoffrey Ditto and Shelley Anne Dwyer and her husband, Vincent Joseph; mother, Dolores; and brother, Russell Olson and his wife, Darcy and their children, Carter, Carlee, Carson and Cameron.
