Samuel “Sammy” Crowell White, age 70 of Cerro Gordo, went to be his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. Born on the twelfth day of August in 1948, he became the son of the late Herbert Crowell White and Delphia Dale Sellers White. Also, preceding Sammy in death was a nephew, Jamie White.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Sanctuary, with Reverend Jeff Stocks officiating; Interment will follow in the Greene Family Cemetery, Cerro Gordo. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 on Wednesday evening at Worthington Funeral Home, Chadbourn. Survivors include his beloved and devoted wife, Minnie Louise Hayes White, of the home; a son, Earley Crowell White, of the home; a brother, Jerry D. White of Whiteville; one grandchild, Jimmi Grace Mathis; Nieces & Nephews, Jacob White, Vanessa King, Andrea Conner, and Matthew Hayes.

Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is serving the family.
